“Twenty two years have passed by as I contemplate. I can recall you getting me out of every scrape. What comes first to my mind was the change that I so desperately needed to make.” (Flight of Kings by The Classic Crime)
Well it’s official as of yesterday I’m 22 years old. I can remember coming in as a 1st year here when I was 19. It’s hard to believe I’m graduating in a year. How crazy is that? And I’ve also changed so much as a person and a student. I’ve become a workaholic along the way too. Can’t say that’s a bad thing especially since summer orientation is next week and everyone’s working left and right to make things run smoothly.
So much planning goes into doing orientation but it’s so rewarding to see the turn out. I’m really excited to see a lot of the class of 2016. Hopefully they’re excited to come here. I know a lot of effort is being put in to not only making summer orientation great; but also to make fall orientation one of the best orientations we’ve had here in awhile, especially since we’re changing so many things up. For the best I think. Though there are still times I wonder if there are things we can do better as a team or on an individual level. Actually I know there are things that can be approved upon. But with practice makes perfect, right?
As for my summer class, it’s going. Not the most exciting class in the world, but I’m learning a few new things. Business Ethics is my last general education requirement. I’m one class away from finishing my Communications minor, and two classes away from finishing my English major.
I already have my fall schedule planned out. Even though I’m finished with my first minor East Asian Studies, I’m still taking classes for it. So with that said my fall schedule: Guilfordian (Student Newspaper), Introduction to Fiction (English). Asia Pacific in Modern Times (East Asian Studies), and Artistry in Film (Communications). All classes I’m excited about, and all the professors teaching these classes, I’ve had them all before, so a lot of familiar faces. But that’s just Guilford, you can repeat your favorite professors as much as you like. And on top of all of this, I’ll be working, doing another internship, and continuing to be Web Editor for The Greenleaf Review (Student Lit. Magazine). I’m pretty excited and I know I’ll be on top of my workaholic ways.
And how I do I organize my life? Through sticky notes.
Have an awesome week and enjoy the official first days of summer. ^_^
